BEST TIME TO VISIT RWANDA – Rwanda is located South of the Equator and it has pleasant climatic and weather conditions. This means you can visit Rwanda anytime of the year depending on what you plan on doing while in the country.

However, the best time to visit Rwanda for a rewarding and comfortable adventure is during the dry months of June to September and late December to February. These dry months allow for the best Gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, golden monkey trekking and hiking experiences in Rwanda. The trekking and hiking trails are drier during these months and not muddy or slippery making the treks easier and the forests less dense providing more visibility and easy mobility. These dry months also allow for excellent game spotting during game drives in Akagera national park.

Nonetheless, you can still visit Rwanda outside these dry months for the country has a lot to offer when it comes to tourist attractions and activities to engage in.

• Best time for Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest national park
• Best time to see newborn animals in the wild in Akagera national park
• Considered the low season so, low rates apply
• Slippery and muddy trekking and hiking trails
• The rains disrupt activities

JANUARY AND FEBRUARY (Short dry spell)

• These two dry months are a short dry spell between the 2 wet rainy seasons in Rwanda and are good months to visit Rwanda.
