Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigal city tour – Volcanoes national park
Pick up from the airport upon arrival or from your hotel in Kigali after your breakfast and embark on a rewarding city tour in the cleanest city in East Africa, Kigali city. You will have lunch after the tour and then your tour driver will drive you to the airport for your helicopter transfer flight to Volcanoes national park. Overnight at your lodge in Volcanoes national park.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Early morning rise to prepare for a once in a lifetime thrilling experience, Gorilla trekking. Starts with a briefing from the park authorities who later assign you to a specific gorilla family / group to track down. The activity will take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours or more depending on where the gorillas nested for the night. Spend an hour with the great apes and then return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and relaxation. You can opt to engage in other activities or spend the evening at the lodge resting for another day of trekking awaits you tomorrow.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes national park
Endemic to the Virunga mountains in Eat-Central Africa, the Golden monkeys are an endangered species interesting to watch as they go about their day, they are more active that the mountain gorillas so on finding them, you will follow them around to get those nice photos. Just like gorilla trekking, you will have a briefing session before you start the golden monkey trekking which will take about 2-4 hours as the monkeys are mostly found within the lush bamboo forests.
After your lunch at the lodge, you will go on a cultural visit to the Gorilla Guardians village formerly the Iby’iwacu village. Return to your lodge for the evening and overnight.
Day 4: Visit the Twin Lakes – Departure
After your breakfast, visit the scenic twin lakes of Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo before you drive to the airstrip for your helicopter transfer flight back to Kigali to catch your international flight back home.
