DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali

Upon arrival at the airport in Kigali, your tour driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Kigali city where you will spend your first night in Rwanda.

Day 2: Kigali to Akagera national park – Boat trip

After your breakfast, the tour driver will pick you up and take you on a half day tour of Kigali city teeming with cultural and historical heritage. Visit the genocide memorial, craft centers, museums and other places of interest. After the city tour, you will be dropped at the airport for your connecting helicopter flight to Akagera national park, check in to your lodge have lunch and later after some relaxation, go on a rewarding Boat trip on Lake Ihema in Akagera national park. Spot different water bird species, hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife at the shores of the lake. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Full day game drive in Akagera national park

A whole day at your disposal to explore the largest and only savannah park in Rwanda. Take on game drives at different times of the day for maximum wildlife viewing opportunities. Expect to spot lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, rhinos, waterbucks, zebras, giraffes, bushbucks, baboons, blue monkeys, impalas and a number of bird species. Overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Hot Air Balloon safari and departure

Early morning rise and drive to the launch site for your hot air balloon safari over the savannah plains and lakes of Akagera national park. View the wildlife and landscape of the park from a different perspective. The flight takes about 1 hour weather conditions permitting. You will have a bush breakfast on touch down. Later drive to your lodge for check out. Take your helicopter flight back to Kigali for your flight back home.
